Good morning!

I thought it was time for a quick update on outreach activities going on around here. Let me know if you are interested in helping with anything.

1. Physics Fair - it's not too late to sign up to host a booth or just to help out on the day of. We already have several tables lined up:

Paul Nonn - Plasma Physics Toys
Peter Timbie - Cosmology
Lisa McGill - The Zero Gravity Team
Adam Dally - Laser Patterns
Dante Passmore - Daya Bay Neutrino Group
Brett Underwood - Exploring Theoretical Physics
Brian Lancor - Quantization in Atomic Physics
Sam Hurley - Medical Imaging

2. Upcoming Wonders of Physics presentations on campus - Nov. 30 @ 12:30, Dec. 17 @ noon

3. Space Place Family Workshops - Saturday Dec. 1st, 10-11 am - Topic is Pirate Physics (treasure maps and building boats) - I'm also looking for other ideas for family workshops. If you have anything you'd like to do, let me know. We're always there the first Saturday of the month.

4. Science Day at Madison Children's Museum - Sunday Dec. 2, 12-3 pm - WoP is hosting a table with hands on demonstrations for kids to learn about physics. We'll leave from Chamberlin at 11:15 if you want a ride, or just meet us there. The Children's museum is at the top of State St by the capitol.

5. Family Science Nights - at local elementary schools - Hillary and I did several of these last year and they were a lot of fun.
Dates/locations:
Hawthorne - Feb. 19th
Glendale - March 4th
Randall - March 1st or 8th (a Saturday)
Lakeview - April 8th
Emerson - April 15th

Thanks!
