Welcome to Fall 2009 Physics Club!

Physics Students -- Welcome back to cold Wisconsin! Hopefully you had a chance to get away over break, but if not then at least we will soon have another exciting semester of PHYSICS CLUB events for you this semester. Our first scheduled activity is an officer meeting this Friday at 3:30pm in the club room. Only officers may vote, but all members are welcome to come provide suggestions.

We will also begin planning our bi-annual trip to FERMILAB this semester.

Kick-off Meeting: Date is Thursday, September 18, at 4PM. We will
start the meeting in the Club Room and move to 2241 if necessary. Our
plan is to have subs for food. Meeting will be an introduction of
officers and a brief talk about the club and its activities, followed
by sign-up sheet distribution and $5 membership fee collection.

Hi everyone. We recieved the new computer yesterday, it is in that big box in the club room. I need to get a hold of drivers and software, before we can start using it. It should be ready next week, thank you for your patience.

The club will be taking a field trip to GE Healthcare.
The date will be Sunday, Nov. 18th at 9:30AM. We will drive to
Waukesha (just outside of Milwaukee, an hour drive), where we will
take a tour of the PET/CT manufacturing world headquarters.

We will start by opening up 20 spots for the trip. Please sign up on
the white board in the club room. Please let me know if you can
drive, gas will be covered by the physics department.

Alas, it is supposed to be cloudy and opaque tonight, so no loverly trip to Pine Bluff for us.
